The Nifty Pixel - New Releases

Hi Everyone,

Em Stafrace from The Nifty Pixel has come up with some groovy new releases:

These silhouettes could easily be printed and added to any art journal page or layout:

The brushes are always different and unique and a 'must have' in any digi stash:

This alpha set is so incredibly versatile with 6 versions at the ready:

The layouts I created:
Standing Tall

Time to Dance

I just love the photo above of my grandparents and I feel very fortunate to have it. They were very musical, a talent that continues to live on in the future generations of their family, with violins, pianos, drums, guitars and one trumpet being played by various members of the family.

The new releases are, as always, 30% off for the next few days, available only at The DigiChick.

Hope you all find some time to create  today! :)

CSI - Major Challenge #172

Hello Everyone,

Today I would like to share my submission for the CSI Major Challenge - #172.

I loved the colours of this case file:

And my layout (digital):
1953
Template | The Nifty Pixel
Paper and Elements | Pieces of Me Digital Collection & Little Things Digital Elements by Vinnie Pearce
Tags | assorted designers
Brushes | assorted, including The Nifty Pixel
Metal Style | Scrapaneers Champions

How I solved the case:
Evidence | string/twine, leaves, metal, clock face
Testimony | used the word, 'destination' in the journaling.

Journaling reads: Your first summer in Australia. You arrived from Holland to your new destination, Renamkr in South Australia with family and no language skills.  You were completely unprepared for the great difficulties that lay ahead.

The case closes August 31 so still time to enter. CSI accept both traditional and digital layouts.  I really enjoy their challenges and find them motivating....and it's probably the only time I actually journal on my pages!

Thank you for coming past. :)

The Nifty Pixel - Core Radiance

Hello all,

The Nifty Pixel has just released a new digital collection, Core Radiance:

This kit is perfect if you exercise or wanting to motivate yourself into action of sorts. Although I use to be a gym junkie, my mind doesn't go there at the moment. However I am happy to say I don't eat any sugar, grains or dairy and feel better for it too.:)
Core Radiance is such a wonderful versatile kit, even without the exercise focus, I was able to create these layouts:

Perfect
Katie Pertiet | Hung Frames

 Right Now
Katie Pertiet | Stitched Borders
Katie Pertiet | Tabbed Frames

There is so much to love about The Nifty Pixel kits. I LOVE the brushes and paint Em designs, but also the patterned papers and elements which are always so different, versatile and interchangeable with her other kits. She is so clever.

Core Radiance is available all weekend at 30% off, at the DigiChick.

Please head over to The Nifty Pixel blog or Facebook page to see more!

Wishing you all a wonderful day. :)

CSI - Case File #171

Case File #171 is just gorgeous. I couldn't resist playing along with this one:

My layout:

The Nifty Pixel | Template: Pretty As A Picture
The Cut Shoppe | Tiny Triangles

The photo is of my eldest daughter on her 7th birthday back in 2012. The photos aren't very good quality, but it still captures the moment.
How I solved the case:
Evidence: stripes, triangles, banners, food (cupcake), cork (arrows), dots.
Testimony: the word, 'celebrate'.

I used a file from the Cut Shoppe, the files are normally for use in a Silhouette machine and for printing, but I decided to use them as a background to emboss. I like to do white on white shapes in my traditional layouts at times, so thought I'd try it here. I like the interest it gives.

This case file closes in about 4 days.

Thanks for popping in!

The Nifty Pixel - Digi Scrap Parade

Hello Everyone,

This weekend, ending Monday August 3, there is the Digi Scrap Parade, a quarterly parade showcasing numerous digital artists. It's basically a blog hop, with each stop having downloadable product that the artists have designed, all around a theme. By the end of the hopping, a massive kit will have been collected. Awesome!

This hop, the theme is, 'World Geography'.

It starts off at The DigiScrap Parade site. Please go HERE.

The Nifty Pixel are contributing this parade and Em has made this fabulous mini kit:

To pick up this mini-kit, pop over to The Nifty Pixel blog by clicking on the image above.

I used this kit in combination with The Nifty Pixel's, 'Wanderlust Collection' found HERE.

Be sure to pick up some goodies. If you have been thinking about trying digital scrapbooking, but don't have enough papers and elements, this is a great way to start building your stash for free!

Hope you are all having a wonderful day!
