Scrap entre Amigas - Sketch Challenge 12

Hello all,
Over at Scrap entre Amigas there is a great sketch challenge - #12 by Maisa Mendoca. Here is the sketch:

I just LOVE this sketch - the background is fabulous and has so many possibilities.  The colour combination is optional, however I used it as a basis for my layout. Here is my entry:

And here are some close-ups:

Originally I was going to have a white background, and had a similar version prepared, but then I opted for the kraft...I'll be using the white for a another layout later. So the background here has 1" circles  punched and stitched in a row.

A list of materials used is in my Flickr Gallery.

The competition closes September 13, so still time to enter.

Thanks for looking.
Have a great day!

This layout is also in my flickr gallery....and shows a closer view of the layout.

Digital Layouts - All boy

Hello.
In December 2011 I took up digital scrapbooking. I kinda fell into it happening across some digital layouts that I thought looked pretty cool. Also, I wanted to expand my Photoshop skills just for the sake of it. And then I was very lucky to have won a class by Tiffany Tillman, called 'Holiday Templates 2011' which became the catalyst for my learning. She is a fabulous teacher, and her classes can be found here, or here. I have my eye on her 'Guide to Blending' class for my next lesson.

Anyway, I've been working on a couple of digital layouts thought I'd share. They are all of my son. The first photo of him I just love, and I've finally scrapped it:

This next one, I thought I'd  try a template from Anna Aspnes. I love her artsy layered templates but have always been worried about doing them justice:

The next one is a fairly quick layout from a StudioDD template. I love these templates too - makes scrapping really quick and easy:

A list of all the materials I used are listed in my flickr gallery found here.

Thanks for looking.

Lily Bee August Sketch Challenge

Hello and welcome to my blog. This is my first ever post, so am still fumbling around learning how to do this. So please be kind.:-)

Anyway, I have entered a sketch competition held at Lily Bee Design found here. I just loved the sketch from Maisa, and only just made it in the deadline. I posted it to my flickr account found here. But here is the layout:
You 3
I'm not happy with my title, but I wanted to get the layout done by the deadline that I rushed it. I think I'll change it. The background uses little squares cut at 3/4 of an inch set in 1&1/4 of an inch from the edge all around. It took me some time to do, but I really like the effect. Lily Bee have such beautiful papers, it makes making layouts such a pleasure.
Thanks for looking.
