Hello everyone,
Scrap Around The World are having a huge month. So many amazing prizes to be won to celebrate their 1st anniversary. On top of which, they have a gorgeous mood board by the talented founder of
SATW,
Helen Tilbury:
My initial inspiration for my layout came from the fabulous shoes. My eldest daughter has always had a fetish for shoes (she LOVED these ones) and I had some photos of her from her birthday sitting on my desk waiting for just the right challenge to come along. Seeing as one of her birthday dresses was also mint in colour, I just had to use this mood board.
My other inspiration came quite obviously from the balloons, however I only added 8 balloons as she was turning 8, but the colours and the gold glitter I just loved. The pink bow tying he balloons together comes from the bow from the top left photo as well as the shoes. The twine around one of my photos and doily layer came from the bottom right photo. I have also added 2 little hearts to the layout which come from the cake pops on the bottom left photo. Also from that photo is the silver platter - I used a flourish which had some silver looking gemstones - polished and shiny which reminded me of the platter. Lastly, I used the word 'celebrate' on my layout from the top left photo.
And some close-ups:
This is such a fun mood board, I really enjoyed working with it. The colour combination I would never have thought to do, but I really like it. The only thing I will say is that the black flower I used doesn't look so heavy in real life - when it comes to the photo, it seems to look heavier. Note to self - when working with black flowers, try to lighten with gesso or glitter...or use charcoal.
Thank you for coming by. The challenge ends at the end of the month so still plenty of time to join in.
