Kreative Koncepts - Colour Challenge #26 & Glitz June Monthly Challenge

Hello everyone,

Today is the reveal of the final challenge from the current Design Team from Kreative Koncepts as well as my final challenge that I have set. Thank you to all who have joined any of the challenges over the last six months and supported and encouraged my role as challenge host for Kreative Koncepts. This is also my last reveal for the Design Team, as I leave alongside the other members who have all been so wonderful and who are really lovely, supportive people, let alone do amazing work.

So this is the challenge:

And my take is a Digital Layout:

Supplies used: Katie Pertiet Layered Template; Papers: Glitz Design; Stamps & Elements: Glitz Design; Stamps: Ali Edwards.

I also would like to enter the above layout in the Glitz June Monthly Challenge:

12Year-3x4mini-1-Glitz

It's a 'Make It Mini' challenge meaning you can make a mini album, or use mini photos on your layout or whatever you can think of that relates to 'mini'. More details can be found HERE.

For Colour Challenge #26 and to see the work of other Design Team members and our Guest Designers, please go HERE.

Thank you for coming by and any comments you care to leave.

Kreative Koncepts - Colour Challenge #25 - DT

Hello all,

A new challenge is up at Kreative Koncepts - Colour Challenge #25. Here it is:

And my take on it is a digital layout:

Supplies: Paper & elements: Katie Pertiet and Anna Aspnes.

I actually did two layouts, working on this one below first, but decided I didn't like it so much, which is why I then made the one above.

Supplies: Paper & Elements: Glitz, Katie Pertiet, Anna Aspnes.

Pop over to the Kreative Koncepts blog to check out the gorgeous work of the Design Team and Guest Designers HERE.

Thank you for coming by.

Kreative Koncepts - Colour Challenge #24 - DT

Hello all,

A new colour challenge is now up on the Kreative Koncepts blog, and hope you are able to play along.

This is it:

Yes, it is quite challenging (well, for me it was).

And this is what I came up with:

The background was cut with my Silhouette, then glued to another piece of white cardstock. I then applied a patchy layer of gesso on the front and back, before dry-brushing some yellow acrylic paint. Once dry, I dropped a few dollops of blue Ecoline paint on, sprayed with water to get it moving around before applying my stamping and splatters. I sprayed some of my embellishments with either Dylusions (cut grass) or Glimmer Mist (sapphire). It was quite a simple and quick layout for me, but time is of the essence at the moment, so had to par down my layers. Still, I think because the colours are so bold, it works for me.

Here are some close-ups:

Colour Challenge #23 - KreativeKoncepts -DT

Hello all!

As you may already know, I am on the Design Team for ScrapFriends. Recently, the online store has been sold by its founder, Angela Star, and with the new owner, Annette, comes many changes including a name change. From now on, you will no longer see ScrapFriends, but Kreative Koncepts. For the fuller story, please go to the blog HERE.

For now, here is the new Colour Challenge. I am loving gold at the moment, so had to incorporate it into a colour challenge at some point:

And my layout, which is all digital:

Supplies: StudioDD Layered Template (recoloured and adjusted), additional paper & elements by Katie Pertiet.

Really hope you are able to play along this month. Remember, you can do a canvas, art journal page, off the page project, digital layout, card or tag!

Go HERE to see what the Guest Designers and Design Team have all done for more inspiration.

Thank you for coming by. Have a great weekend!

Step-by-step LOVE Canvas

Hello everyone,

For the current Colour Challenge #22 over at ScrapFriends,  I made an 8" x 8" canvas. It was my first time doing a canvas and a highly enjoyable process. Here is a reminder of the canvas...

Today I thought I'd show the steps I took to create it...

1. I really had no idea what I wanted to do at this stage but I glued down a spare die-cut piece from my Silhouette, then some cut lace and sticky netting.
2. I brushed white gesso all over.

3. Added some texture paste (stars through a stencil which didn't work so well).
4. I had left the canvas for a while and returned when I had a better idea of what I wanted to do. Using watered down brown acrylic paint, I brushed a wash over the entire canvas.

5. I added some shading around the edges with a mix of Distress Ink, Distress Stain, and acrylic paint, wiping with a baby wipe as I went and adding more again.
6. I love my splatters, so had to add some here - brown acrylic paint and white gesso.

7. Using left over bits of paper, I inked the edges with Distress Ink (Frayed Burlap) and added black lines around the edges of the paper, then arranged them as so, gluing them down.
8. I added some more left over bits of die-cut paper - I sprayed the white frame blue with Glimmer Mist (Sapphire) as well as the Wycinanka chipboard frame (love their chipboard).

9. Added some more layers of paper as well as painted a little bit of Twinkling H2O in 'True Blue'.
10. Some more layers again - I just love those large Prima bulbs - a canvas is perfect for them.
11. Lastly, I added my photo in a Kaisercraft chipboard frame, some flowers and finally added my title, as below:

This has now been given to my mother. She loves it (mum's are great, aren't they?).

Thank you for joining me today.

ScrapFriends - Colour Challenge #23 - DT

Hello everyone,

The new Colour Challenge has just been released over at ScrapFriends. Hope you like it and inspires you to create.

Here it is:

For the colour challenges at ScrapFriends, there is the ability to do art journal pages, cards, digital layouts, off-the-page projects, canvases as well as layouts for submission. This month, I decided to do a canvas (8"x8").  It was my first one and really fun to do, so think I'll be doing more in the future...

In a few weeks time, I'll show a step-by-step on how I made it.

In the meantime, please join us in this challenge. For loads of inspiration, see what the Guest Designers and Design Team have done HERE.

Thank you for coming by.

Hello everyone!

Today is the release of the new Colour Challenge (#21) for ScrapFriends.

I love these colours and hope you do too (although I'm a little biased). This is the first colour challenge that I have put together for ScrapFriends. Please go HERE for loads of gorgeous inspiration by the Guest Designers and Design Team - they have all done such marvellous work.

And here is my version:

And some close-ups:

My papers are mainly from Basic Grey (Indian Summer and Green at Heart) a sheet from Glitz and another from American Crafts. There are also a few die cuts from Kaiser and some digital elements printed off.

Hope you are able to join us this month!
