Gelli Printing - Background

Hello everyone,

Earlier in the year I was playing with my new Gelli Plate and had made up some papers. Today I'm sharing a page from one of the papers. This was the one I chose to work with:




And this is what I made from it:

As soon as I had it on my computer screen to resize, I realised I could have done so much more to it. At the time, it felt done, but looking at it, I have many other ideas to continue it. I may still do so, but not at the moment.

Anyway, I used a Dylusions stencil, drawing it on card and adding some hair before cutting it out and treating it. I used the wrong pen to journal so sprayed it with fixative which then made it discolour and run - however I quite like the colouring.

Looking at this page makes me think of standing in space, having colourful atoms splatter on me or pass me by. The bright colours represents the positive and happiness that is now coming my way, (so I hope...and so long as I face the right direction!:-)).

Kreative Koncepts - Colour Challenge #24 - DT

A new colour challenge is now up on the Kreative Koncepts blog, and hope you are able to play along.

This is it:

Yes, it is quite challenging (well, for me it was).

And this is what I came up with:

The background was cut with my Silhouette, then glued to another piece of white cardstock. I then applied a patchy layer of gesso on the front and back, before dry-brushing some yellow acrylic paint. Once dry, I dropped a few dollops of blue Ecoline paint on, sprayed with water to get it moving around before applying my stamping and splatters. I sprayed some of my embellishments with either Dylusions (cut grass) or Glimmer Mist (sapphire). It was quite a simple and quick layout for me, but time is of the essence at the moment, so had to par down my layers. Still, I think because the colours are so bold, it works for me.

Glitz April Monthly Challenge - Week 1: Triangles

This month over at Glitz, the first monthly challenge is Triangles. I love triangles, so couldn't go past this challenge.
        

And my take on the challenge:

All products are Glitz (apart from 4 little chipboard triangles and the flowers). I used mainly Finnley with some Wild Free digital elements that I printed out.

There is still plenty of time to enter this or the other challenges as it ends April 30.
