Jen Maddocks - January Challenge

Hello Everyone,

I have had a break from scrapping and from the computer for almost a year. Sometimes a break is needed to deal with personal things happening and to reassess what is important.  During that time, I did a lot of sewing, which I love to do, and shall be sharing some of my makes as well as some scrapbooking that I have just started up again. I found that not scrapping, left a little void.  It reminds me to be thankful and is therapeutic for me in a different way than sewing is. So I'm going to just poddle along and see what I feel like doing and sharing at the time. :)

To get back into scrapbooking, I joined a Jen Maddocks challenge over at Digital Scrapbook Studio. Each month, she holds a challenge and supplies a few items that must be used in the challenge, and the rest is up to the creator.

At the end of January, I joined the January Bricolage challenge with this layout:

This is what was supplied for the challenge:
I also used:
Jen Maddocks | Bricolage Monthy January 2018 (Bundle)
https://www.digitalscrapbookingstudio.com/digital-art/bundled-deals/bricolage-monthly-january-2018-bundle/
Jen Maddocks | Bricolage Monthly January 2018 (Add-On)
https://www.digitalscrapbookingstudio.com/digital-art/element-packs/bricolage-monthly-january-2018-add-on/

And then I joined the Art Therapy Challenge for January with this layout using the same kit:

It was a great way to get back into the digital arena.  I accidentally deleted all my brushes, and forgot some techniques and where things were in the program....but it was enjoyable to create again.

Thank you for popping in.

CSI - Case File 217

Hello Everyone,

This month's major challenge over at CSI is very autumnal and has a great sketch/template from the clever Em Stafrace of The Nifty Pixel:

This challenge is also the first at CSI's new home - on a blogger format instead of a Ning site, so much easier to access and no excuse not to play along. :)

My digital layout for this challenge:
Love These Memories
Credits:
Oops, forgot to write it all down - but mainly from Katie Pertiet at Designer Digitals.

The photos were taken in March 2011, autumn in the southern hemisphere.

How I solved the case:
The scheme: I used all the colours.
Evidence: woodgrain/wood, antlers, triangles, jar, animals & leaves.
Testimony: Inspiration word, 'outdoor'.
Journaling reads: Spending time outdoors.  Climbing and hiding.  You love this old tree at the park with its old skewed branches spreading themselves out in all directions and its thick trunk low and wide to climb on.

The challenge is open until the end of the month, so plenty of time to join in. Please go to their new site to check out all the details: CSI Challenge #217.

Thanks for coming by. :)

Amy Wolff - January Challenge

Hello Everyone,

I decided to enter another challenge, this time using Amy Wolff's digital products. It is to be linked to one of the challenges from the Lilypad's MOC4 challenge. I chose to link to the January 2 challenge: 'Listers Gonna List', which meant I had to include a list on my layout:

Amy Wolff | Renewal
Amy Wolff | Messy Marvins 5
Amy Wolff | Messy Marvins 6
Amy Wolff | Sassy Pants

Amy Wolff | A Little Damaged.

I chose to do a layout of my son and list 8 things about him. We were on our way to a school performance and he had to wear these 3D glasses as part of his performance. They look massive on his lil' face.

Hoping you all have a great day.
Thanks for coming by. :)

June Champions Challenge

Hi Everyone,

Recently I have joined a digital subscription whereby there is a monthly kit and videos with new techniques to learn. I joined to better my digital skills. So far, it's been brilliant! It's called Champions and held at Scrapaneers. Classes are taught by Tiffany Tillman. I have taken classes from her before which I have really enjoyed and learnt so much from.  I love her clear explanations and style.

Scrapaneers Champions June 2015

Every month, there is a challenge held in the forum. This month is to:
  • Fix a photo by adjusting white balance, exposure or alignment (or whatever else needs fixing).
  • Make a color photo really pop by using the Color Match tool.
  • Pump up your title or the overall design of your page with paint, word strips, alphas, fonts, etc.
And my layout:

The Art District - September Challenge

Hello everyone,

Tangie Baxter, a digital and mixed media art journaler has recently set up her own site - shop, blog and gallery. As well, there is a section called, 'The Art District' which offers a challenge every month, this being the first.

There are 3 options for the challenge, I chose the first which was to use 9 circles, 6 leaves and 3 birds. I also chose to use products only from the September Grab Bag.
So here is my digital art journal layout:

I was thinking of, 'The Gruffalo' when I was doing this page. It was fun to do.

Next time, I might print off some of her elements and do a hybrid layout.

Anyhow, thanks for coming by. You can check out Tangie Baxter & Co HERE.

Glitz April Monthly Challenge - Week 1: Triangles

This month over at Glitz, the first monthly challenge is Triangles. I love triangles, so couldn't go past this challenge.
        BlogTopper.jpg (600×300)

And my take on the challenge:

All products are Glitz (apart from 4 little chipboard triangles and the flowers). I used mainly Finnley with some Wild Free digital elements that I printed out.

There is still plenty of time to enter this or the other challenges as it ends April 30.

Stampotique Challenge #138

Hello all,

I love green and am so glad there are many challenges out there at the moment that are focusing on the colour due to St Patrick's Day earlier in the week. Thank you to the Irish.

So I have decided to play along with a challenge I found via France Papillon's blog, the Stampotique Designers Challenge. For challenge #138, the predominant colour must be green and the use of stamps is also a must for your project.

Here is my submission:

The stamps I used and some close-ups:

The finished size is 6" x 8". The base is some cereal cardboard I cut to size. I really wanted a smaller project so that I could experiment with using serviettes on the background. I firstly came across the use of serviettes to add layers by Jane Davenport, but Gayle Price uses it more so and in a different way to stunning effect.
The lower left close-up photo shows the underlying layer of serviettes. I love the subtle effect it gives.

You can read more about the challenge rules HERE. You have until the end of March to get your green on!

Thank you for coming by.
